SolarEdge Company Scale and Adoption Statistics

SolarEdge’s installed-base and customer figures describe reach, but they are not the same as annual shipments or independent market-share estimates. The company reported these measures for the end of 2024, with global scope unless otherwise noted.

  • More than 3.7 million homes were equipped with SolarEdge photovoltaic systems by the end of 2024. This is a company-reported lower bound because “more than” indicates that the actual figure is higher. SolarEdge Sustainability Report 2024
  • More than 50% of Fortune 100 companies had SolarEdge technology on at least one rooftop by the end of 2024. This measures companies with at least one rooftop installation, not the number of rooftops or total system capacity. SolarEdge Sustainability Report 2024
  • 100% of SolarEdge manufacturing and R&D sites were certified to ISO standards for quality, environmental, and safety management in 2024. Certification coverage is an operational measure, not a performance outcome. SolarEdge Sustainability Report 2024
  • SolarEdge employees taught 10,000 pupils through EDGEUcate classes in 2024. This is a participation count and does not measure learning outcomes. SolarEdge Sustainability Report 2024

A French methane-production farm provides one site-specific illustration rather than a representative company-wide outcome. The 2024 sustainability case study reported that the SolarEdge system powered approximately 78% of the site’s daily energy use and reduced carbon emissions by more than 100 tonnes annually; the emissions figure is an estimate whose methodology and counterfactual were not stated on the page. SolarEdge Inverter, Optimizer and Battery Shipment Data

Shipments measure products sent, while revenue-recognition volumes measure products recognized in accounting records. Neither measure is identical to installed or activated systems.

Global measure 2024 2023
Inverters shipped 257,808 1,011,890
Power optimizers shipped 6,975,739 17,430,082
Inverter nameplate capacity shipped 3,563 MW 12,629 MW
PV batteries shipped 576 MWh 744 MWh

The 2024 shipment figures come from SolarEdge’s Form 10-K for the years ended December 31, 2024 and 2023. The megawatt measure is aggregate inverter nameplate capacity and excludes batteries; battery capacity is reported separately in megawatt-hours. SolarEdge Form 10-K

SolarEdge recognized revenue on approximately 245.7 thousand inverters in 2024, compared with approximately 1,015.8 thousand in 2023. It recognized revenue on approximately 6.6 million power optimizers in 2024, down from approximately 17.5 million, and approximately 556.2 MWh of PV batteries, down from approximately 737.4 MWh.

These are rounded revenue-recognition figures, not installation totals. SolarEdge Form 10-K

The first half of 2025 showed higher revenue-recognition volumes than the comparable period of 2024:

  • For the six months ended June 30, 2025, approximately 158.1 thousand inverters were recognized as revenue, up 23.9% from 127.7 thousand in the first half of 2024. SolarEdge Form 10-Q
  • Approximately 4.8 million power optimizers were recognized as revenue in the first half of 2025, up 54.9% from 3.1 million in the first half of 2024. SolarEdge Form 10-Q
  • Approximately 386.0 MWh of PV batteries were recognized as revenue in the first half of 2025, up 80.4% from 214.3 MWh in the first half of 2024. SolarEdge Form 10-Q

SolarEdge’s global revenue fell substantially in 2024 before the company reported year-over-year growth in the second quarter and first half of 2025. These are GAAP revenue measures, and the geographic percentages describe revenue mix rather than where systems were installed.

Revenue measure Earlier period Later period
Full-year revenue $2.976528 billion in 2023 $901.456 million in 2024
Revenue outside the U.S. 74.5% in 2023 57.9% in 2024
Q2 revenue $265.4 million in Q2 2024 $289.4 million in Q2 2025
First-half revenue $469.8 million in H1 2024 $508.9 million in H1 2025

Full-year 2024 revenue was down 69.7% from 2023. SolarEdge attributed $1.7139 billion of the decline to lower inverter and power-optimizer volumes, $187.8 million to lower PV-battery sales mainly in Europe, $81.8 million to lower ancillary solar-product sales, and $66.0 million to e-mobility components connected with discontinuation of the LCV e-Mobility activity. SolarEdge Form 10-K

In Q2 2025, revenue increased 9.1% year over year to $289.4 million. First-half 2025 revenue increased 8.3% year over year to $508.9 million, while revenue from outside the United States was 36.0% in Q2 and 37.7% in the first half, compared with 63.4% and 65.4% in the respective 2024 periods. SolarEdge Form 10-Q

SolarEdge’s blended ASP is a company-defined measure, not a consumer retail price. In 2024, blended ASP per watt for solar products excluding PV batteries increased 2.6%, while blended ASP per watt-hour for PV batteries decreased 28.6%; in Q2 2025, the corresponding year-over-year changes were a decrease of $0.030, or 13.9%, per watt and a decrease of $0.071, or 19.2%, per watt-hour. SolarEdge Profitability, Costs and Cash Statistics

SolarEdge’s 2024 GAAP results show the effect of lower revenue alongside inventory and other operating charges. The figures below should not be mixed with non-GAAP measures.

GAAP measure 2023 2024
Gross profit (loss) $703.823 million ($877.204 million)
Gross margin 23.6% negative 97.3%
Net income (loss) $34.329 million ($1.806357 billion)
Cost of revenues $2.272705 billion $1.778660 billion

Cost of revenues decreased 21.7% in 2024, but inventory costs increased by $723.8 million, mainly because of inventory write-downs. Warranty expenses and warranty accruals decreased by $241.7 million. SolarEdge Form 10-K

Operating expenses also changed as revenue contracted. Research and development expense was $277.237 million, down 13.8% from 2023, while sales and marketing expense was $146.865 million, down 10.6%; other operating expenses, net rose to $259.527 million from $31.314 million, a 728.8% increase that the filing attributed mainly to impairment and abandonment losses. SolarEdge Form 10-K

Cash-flow measures were also negative in operations during 2024. SolarEdge used $313.319 million in operating cash flow, compared with $180.113 million used in 2023, while investing cash flow was $416.286 million generated in 2024 versus $268.894 million used in 2023, substantially reflecting securities activity. SolarEdge Form 10-K

At December 31, 2024, SolarEdge held $274.6 million in cash and cash equivalents and $353.9 million in available-for-sale marketable securities. These are point-in-time balances, and the securities are not cash equivalents. SolarEdge Form 10-K

SolarEdge Workforce and Talent Pipeline Statistics

SolarEdge reported 3,961 full-time and part-time employees worldwide at December 31, 2024. The sustainability report rounds the comparable figure to 3,960, so the filing’s exact headcount is used here.

Function Employees at Dec. 31, 2024
Research and development 1,171
Sales and marketing 539
Operations, production, quality, reliability and support 1,804
General and administrative 448

The company reported that approximately 30% of its total workforce was reduced by the end of 2024 compared with end-2023 levels. Restructuring announcements also extended into January 2025, so the reduction should not be read as a complete description of every later staffing change. SolarEdge Sustainability Report 2024

At the end of 2024, the reported regional distribution was 67% EMEA, 24% APAC, and 9% Americas. Roles with an established career path represented 40% of the global workforce, and formal performance reviews covered 73% of global employees; the company noted that the review figure was affected by early-2025 restructuring and included end-of-year employees. SolarEdge Sustainability Report 2024

Talent movement continued within the reduced workforce. More than 190 positions were filled by internal candidates in 2024, representing 24% of positions filled during the year, and more than 280 employees were promoted to roles of greater responsibility; both “more than” counts are company-reported lower bounds. SolarEdge First-Half 2025 Operating and Sustainability Data

The first-half 2025 results cover the six months ended June 30, 2025, not the full year. They indicate improved year-over-year revenue, product revenue-recognition volumes, and gross margin, while the company still reported a GAAP net loss.

  • Q2 2025 net loss was $124.7 million, compared with $130.8 million in Q2 2024. SolarEdge Form 10-Q
  • First-half 2025 net loss was $223.3 million, compared with $288.1 million in the first half of 2024. SolarEdge Form 10-Q
  • First-half 2025 gross margin was 9.8%, compared with negative 7.9% in the first half of 2024. SolarEdge Form 10-Q

  • Q2 2025 sales-and-marketing expense was $28.725 million, down 28.1% from Q2 2024, and first-half sales-and-marketing expense was $60.382 million, down 23.5% from the first half of 2024. SolarEdge Form 10-Q

In Q2 2025, SolarEdge recognized revenue on approximately 2.6 million power optimizers, up 31.9% from 2.0 million in Q2 2024, and approximately 225.0 MWh of PV batteries, up 79.2% from 125.4 MWh. The corresponding inverter figure was approximately 86.2 thousand, up 31.9% from 65.4 thousand. SolarEdge Form 10-Q

These interim operating figures sit alongside the earlier sustainability measures: the 2024 ISO certification coverage, EDGEUcate participation, and French farm case study are company-reported indicators with their own definitions and limitations. They should be interpreted separately from GAAP financial outcomes and from shipment or installed-base statistics.
